Secondary practicum
My example of a photo collage using the idiom of “a glass half full”.
a picture is worth a thousand words
In the spring of 2022, I developed and created a photo collage project for a freshmen photography class that emphasized the big idea of different points of view. In this six week unit, students learned about how to read photo collages that comprise of multiple photos through exploring contemporary photographers David Hockney, Justine Khamara, and Brno Del Zou. Students created their photo collages inspired by cubism, an idiom, or surrealism, using foam core to pop and emphasize their point of view.

Affect in 3D
In the same spring semester of 2022, I collaborated and co-taught curriculum for an IB and AP Junior and Senior studio class that focused on visual communication using poster designs as 3D anaglyph. The students learned about poster designs and history through discussing the origins of “Keep Calm and Carry On” in Britain during WW|| and how it has transcended throughout generations. Students then created their own version of the poster “Keep Calm and Carry On” in means to brainstorm their own poster ideas. My co-teacher and I also included relevant graphic artists like Milton Glaser and other contemporary artists that are using posters to bring awareness to issues they care about.
